Boroh mourns victims of Calabar viewing center tragedy

The presidential aide prayed the Almighty God to give the families of the deceased the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss, while he prayed for the repose of the victims.

Boroh told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Friday in Abuja, that the loss was extremely downcast and heartbreaking

NAN recalled that no fewer than 30 persons died on Thursday night in Calabar at a viewing center, while watching the Europa Football League match between Manchester United and Anderlecht.

The incident happened at about 9.30 p.m at Nyagasang area of Atimbo in Calabar Municipality Local Government Area of the state.

“Those we love remain with us for love itself lives on, and cherished memories never fade because, a loved one is gone.

“Those we love can never be more than a thought apart, for as long there is a memory, they will live on in our hearts,“ he said

He commiserated with the people and Government of Cross River State on the incident.

He, however, advised that this should be a lesson for all of us, especially relevant authorities to ensure proper assessment of every business location in the state before granting approvals.
