NSCDC deploys 3,000 personnel in Kaduna

The deployment is contained in a press statement issued and signed by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Orndiir Terzungwe.

He said the personnel comprised of those on covert and overt operations to ensure peace and order before, during and after the festivity.

According to the statement, the deployment is expected to maintain surveillance on critical infrastructure and National Assets.

The statement quoted the State Commandant of the Corps, Alhaji Modu Bunu, as saying that the action had become necessary in view of some security challenges bedeviling the state.

Bunu expressed worry on the nefarious and inhuman activities of some unscrupulous persons, whoindulged in abduction of persons for ransom in spite of security measures put in place.

He cautioned residents against anything that could expose them to security risks, noting that the display of material wealth on social media, unnecessary travelling at odd hours and isolation as some acts that should be checked.

“We will collaborate with other security agencies and will not allow anything that could destroy the peace efforts being put in the state.

“The public should ensure vigilance and report any suspected acts, movements and persons,” the statement said.

He called on everyone to ensure a peaceful co-existence and tolerance irrespective of differences.

The commandant felicitated with the State Government and all the good people of the state on this successful Ramadan and expressed the hope for a peaceful Eid- el-Fitr.
