The Federal High Court in Abuja has struck out a suit filed by President Muhammadu Buhari against DAAR Communications.

Buhari filed the defamation suit against the company, which owns African Independent Television (AIT), in 2015 after accusing the station of airing hate broadcasts against him during the campaigning period for the presidential elections.

The suit was struck out on Wednesday, December 7, 2016, by Justice John Tsoho.

Buhari served as the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2015.

AIT was also barred from airing a damaging documentary on APC vice presidential candidate and now Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo.

The station was further compelled to apologize to APC National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu after it aired a controversial documentary about him.
