Ishaku disclosed this when the Taraba coordinator of the council, Alhaji Abdullahi Ahmed, visited her to highlight the opportunities in the raw materials potential of the state.

The wife of the governor noted that her recent tour of the state revealed a sad story of people living in poverty in the midst of wealth.

She noted that a partnership with RMRDC would give Taraba women the opportunity to acquire entrepreneurship skills to enable them transform the huge agricultural and mineral resources into money for development.

``The mandate of RMRDC to identify and transform the huge industrial and agricultural resources into wealth in order to foster economic development is in line with the rescue mission of the state,’’ she said.

Earlier, the RMRDC state coordinator told the governor's wife that the council was ready to partner with government, private organisations and well-meaning individuals to develop the state`s abundant raw materials.

Ahmed noted that state had great potential to change its economic fortunes if necessary entrepreneurship skills were given to the inhabitants for effective utilisation of the resources.

``Taraba is so blessed with abundant mineral and agricultural resources which have not been tapped for development.

``It is important to acquaint you with the details of the great opportunities in cocoa, coffee, tea, tomatoes, rice and maize production, among others, for a collaboration to empower the people,’’ he said.
