Judge adjourns ex-Air Force chief's trial as EFCC calls witness

Justice Mohammed Idris has adjourned the trial of ex-Air Force chief, Adesola Amosu till October 21, 2016.

The trial which opened in a Federal High Court, Lagos, saw EFCC lawyer, Rotimi Oyedepo, calling his first witness, Mojeed Olatunji, who explained how funds were withdrawn from the Nigeria Air Force account.

Olatunji further took the court through a number of inflow and outflow of cash transactions carried out on the NAF account.

Olatunji, a compliance officer with Skye bank, told the court that the Nigerian Air Force account had Air Commodore J.B. Adigun, Air Commodore O.O. Gbadebo and Group Capt. B.O.G. Ifeobu as its signatories as at January 28, 2014.

He told the court how N2.4 billion was credited into the account on September 11, 2014 and how this was followed by a debit transactions of N959.7 million, N893.2 million and N556.3 million, respectively.

Amosun is charged alongside two other officers of the Air Force AVM Jacob Adigun and Air Commodore Gbadebo Olugbenga.
