In a statement issued by Mr Sani Datti, Head of Media and Public Relations, NEMA, in Abuja, NEMA said the cause of the blast, which occurred at about 11 a.m, had yet to be ascertained.
Datti said the victims had been evacuated to Michika General Hospital for treatment.
He also said the number of the dead had not been confirmed, and that further details would be made available in updates later.

The NEMA Coordinator in Adamawa, Mr Sa’ad Bello, had confirmed the occurrence of two blasts in the market earlier.
