People are freaking out about this picture of Hilary Duff and her son

It’s pretty obvious that Hilary Duff is into being a mom—one quick glance at her Instagram page shows that she posts tons of pics of her adorable son, Luca. The picture she posted on Monday of herself and Luca at Disneyland was no exception. In it, she has her arm around her son and is kissing him on the lips.

The photo is cute, and clearly Luca loves being with his mom. But some people are freaked out about it. While the pic has received nearly 275,000 likes, some commenters expressed how appalled they were about it. "Kissing your child on the lips is not necessary," one wrote. "It may in time create a not healthy desire and it's too close to what adults do."

But many more people rushed to Hilary’s defense. "I don't see what the problem is, all mothers kiss their children," one wrote. "Grow up." "I kiss my kids on the lips several times a day," another said.

Hilary isn’t the first celebrity to get heat for kissing her child on the lips. Victoria Beckham came under fire in July for posting a photo on Instagram of herself kissing her daughter Harper on the lips—and plenty of parents started posting pics of themselves kissing their kids on the lips in her defense. Rihanna also faced criticism in November when she posted a photo on Instagram of herself kissing her niece on the lips.

While Hilary no doubt appreciates the support, she’s got her own back. She responded Tuesday with a clear message that she’s not having the hate. "For anyone commenting that a kiss on the lips with my four year old is 'inappropriate' go ahead and click a quick unfollow with your warped minds and judgment," she wrote on Instagram.
