So you've spent the last few months bantering with wedding vendors, fighting family over the guest list and trying to get your bridal train in order.

It is for this and several other reasons couples should strive to have a honeymoon period where they can get some much needed R&R, bond and re-discover each other after the stressful weeks leading up to the wedding.

Here are 4 great reasons why you should ABSOLUTELY have a honeymoon:

1. It's a great time to relax after the stress of wedding planning: Planning a wedding is no walk in the park, and is on several instances a test of the coupe's wills. Therefore, the honeymoon period accords couples the chance to relax and take a breather after the stress of the weeks leading up to the wedding.

2. You can bond and reconnect before returning to life's hustle and bustle: During the honeymoon, couples can learn to re-discover each other away from everyone else and the demands of daily living. It's also a chance to forge an even stronger bond before life takes over.

3. You can build new memories: What better way to begin the rest of your lives together than sharing your waking moments together, preferably in an exotic location somewhere? During this period you can re-learn things about each other, try out new things, share adventures and experiences that will last a lifetime.

4. You learn new things about each other: Being in a new environment can sometimes expose new things about one another. The honeymoon phase can be quite the teacher as you're now officially man and wife and this can bring out new sides to folks.
