What extent would you go to make yourself 'deserving' of someone's love? Leave your family? Ditch friends? Bleach your skin?
By the time love gets on your brain though, you'll discover that those things you vowed never to do are indeed doable and you'll even find yourself deriving pleasure from doing them.
While it is usually advisable to be willing to make a number of changes so as to accommodate your partner in a relationship, one has to ask; to what extent is the change supposed to go?
How much inconvenience should one put themselves through to make their partner feel good? How much sacrifice should one make for their relationship to stand?
What would you do to keep your relationship, how much work do you think one should put into making his/her love work?
Would you abandon your family and elope with your partner? Would you leave your friends for good just to be with your lover?
How about bleaching your skin? Would you do that to keep a partner if you ever feel that is what is needed?
Take Toke Makinwa for instance; the vlogger and OAP only recently revealed that she bleached her skin as it appeared that that was what she needed to do to make her ex-husband stop cheating on her.
“…I had lightened my skin at some point – Anita [her husband’s mistress] was half Lebanese and half Ibibio, and Maje made me feel like he preferred her lighter skin,” she said.
Sadly, it was not enough for her as the marriage eventually crashed.
The question now is this; if you were ever in the situation, would you bleach to keep a relationship?
Would you change the colour of your skin if it was all you needed to keep someone you love?
Answer honestly, would you bleach your skin to save your relationship?»
