An engaged couple quickly exchanged vows in the heat of a marathon race in Chicago.

35-yr-old Stephanie Reinhart said she wanted a 'short and sweet ceremony' while 46-yr-old Mark Jockel wanted a big wedding surrounded by friends and family.

But Reinhart and Jockel finally reached a compromise, tying the knot at an 8-mile mark of Sunday’s Chicago Marathon in the Boystown neighborhood.

The bride wore a white running outfit and held flowers while Jockel wore a tuxedo T-shirt. They wedded under a garden arch decorated with race medals.

The ceremony took less than four minutes, and was all captured by the news crew who had come to video the marathon.

Reinhart says their dream wedding came true as she got her simple wedding and Jockel got “several thousand guests”  like he wanted.

The couple met two years ago through the Chicago Area Runners Association.
