Isaacs, in the response, says he also wants his estranged wife to cover his lawyer's fees as he battles the divorce.
Mary J. Blige had asked the court to block Kendu, who was also her former manager, from getting the cash when she first filed earlier in the summer of 2016.
The couple separated in July 2016, having been married since 2013. However, it appears they can't agree on the exact date of their separation.
While Mary J. Blige stated that the date is "to be determined" on her petition, Kendu Isaacs seems so sure 9n his own petition that the date of separation is 25 July 2016.
The ‘Stronger’ singer confirmed the separation with a public statement in August. The statement, released through her rep read;
“Ms. Blige is saddened to say [that] it is true that she has filed for divorce, saying sometimes things don’t work how we hoped they would… but, there is a divine plan and a reason for everything.
"Mary will continue writing and working on her album, which is due out later this year along with her world tour. She thanks and appreciates her fans for their support and love through this very difficult emotional time.”
