18-yr-old bride Nada Merhi and 27-yr-old soldier, Hassan Youssef posed for portraits for wedding photographer Jafar Meray among the bombed out ruins of Homs
Homs used to be Syria's third largest city with nearly 1.5 million inhabitants before the civil war, more than half of the populace were displaced in the war which started in 2011.
Youssef was dressed in his military uniform while Merhi wore a white wedding gown which served as a contrast to the ghost-like bombed out background where the photos were being taken.
Wedding photographer Meray told Eid that the purpose of the shoot was to demonstrate “life is stronger than death.”
