George Clooney, said despite different schedules, he celebrated his first wedding anniversary with his wife Amal, but didn't get her a gift.

The 54-yr-old Hollywood actor revealed this while talking to Extra's AJ Calloway at a screening of his film 'O Brother, Where Art Thou?' at the New York Film Festival on Tuesday.

"We had our first-year anniversary two nights ago,

"I had to start off by (going to) a Jerry Weintraub event... and then afterwards she and I got to sneak out and have a dinner," he told Extra.

Host AJ teased him "That was it, just a little dinner?"

"What are you gonna do, shoot off fireworks?", Clooney joked.

"You know, sometimes you just go to dinner," he went on.

"This is the paper anniversary you don't want to go too crazy on the first, you know, you've got a lot more to do," he said.

Clooney had earlier told reporters that he'll miss his first wedding anniversary to his human rights lawyer wife due to hectic schedules.

The actor and human rights lawyer Amal wed in a lavish, star-studded wedding in Italy on September 27.
