Planning for a wedding is an extremely stressful period in a woman life, but it can get worse when she has her mother saying things like:

  1. "You are spending to much"-Except you are paying for the wedding, please remember that you do not get a vote. It is her big day, a day she has probably spent years planning for, so, let her do her thing. Instead of pointing out her extravagant ways, try advising her to plan a budget or simply trust your daughter.
  2. "I'm wearing white, too!" - No bride wants to share her big day with anyone and that includes her mother. White has a "reserved" sign on it meant solely for the bride, so unless you are getting married on that day too, please, pick a something more appropriate.
  3. "I want to do your makeup"- Please, mother of the bride do not tell your daughter this. You are from different generations, so, please, let her do her thing, except you are Banke Meshida Lawal of BMPRO, then you are free.

Mothers-of-the-brides, please, remember that wedding planning can be stressful before you make a critical remark or self-centered comment.
