Every bride knows that the struggle to nail the perfect bridal look is very real.
Thankfully, Something Navy blogger, Arielle Charnas, is dishing her best big-day tips, so, brides-to-be listen up.
- Try on everything- "Go to all the stores you know. Try on as much as you can. It's overwhelming, but it's like dating: After going out with a few guys it helps narrow down exactly what it is that you're looking for (in someone and a dress)."
- Make sure your dress feels like you- "I originally wanted to do something super simple for my wedding gown, but then I thought to myself, 'It's my one special day, I should wear something that really represents me.' I designed my gown with a mix of modern and traditional with Christian Siriano. I love him and I think he totally gets me and my style. His work is feminine and glam but also clean and classic. The mix is exactly who I am."
- Don't neglect the footwear- "I think a shoe truly completes a look, it's the most important accessory in my eyes. For my big day, I went with Rene Caovilla — her shoes are literally made for weddings. I searched for months for a shoe because I didn't want to do the typical strappy sandal; I wanted something different that jumped out at me. When I saw those, I really fell in love. The pearls and shells on the straps were so Miami and the fabric was satin which was so elegant and chic. I'm all about a pointy toe too, so the mix of all of these things seemed so perfect for me. Even though you couldn't even really see them, I knew what they looked like and I knew how much I loved them!"
- Pack a party dress- "I didn't plan on wearing a second look, but my older, wiser sister had a short simple white sheath overnighted for the wedding. Thank goodness she did, because dancing would've been a nightmare in my tulle gown! The dress she bought didn't fit, but I was so happy that I didn't even care."
