Your date, hookup or relationship could be a trending topic for a whole day among other things.
Obviously, the platform has become accepted as the go-to haven for the young and hip to find like minds and engaging conversations to hop on.
Add that to the fact that Twitter is also bursting with the some of prettiest girls and most good-looking guys you see around, it becomes easier to understand why the youths are enjoying tweeting, right?
And then when you have loads of guys and gorgeous babes in the same space, you better expect sparks of romantic feelings, whispered words of endearment in the DM and love blooming from that space into real life dates and hangouts.
The problem, however, is that this doesn’t go well all the time.
Matter of fact, numerous past drama on the TL confirms this and if you can’t remember most of those, you surely remember the recent #KeepTheChangeBae story.
Apart from the fact that stories from the date/hookup could become a nation-wide trending topic for about two or three days, here are some other things that could go wrong when you date off Twitter...
You can’t judge people’s smartness and potential companionability by the things they tweet.
The brilliance of those tweets you regularly see on that babe/guy’s TL could be borrowed from some unseen authors.
You might be in for a rude shock if you think because they tweet funny they’ll be fun to be with on a date. Just ask Snikoggs.
Another thing that could go wrong when dating off Twitter is the fakeness you might uncover about your date partner.
People are not usually of the same complexion as the pictures on their profile, the sexually-charged convos you have with them could be something they are only capable of when online.
You might also discover the hypocrisy of some people’s social media opinions when you meet them in real life.
LOL. That sounds a little funny, I know.
The gist here is that sometimes the problem you face when you meet someone off Twitter will not be about their smartness or realness, it’ll be some other thing like body odour, mouth odour, speaking with an H-factor, etc.
It’s not all doom and gloom when dating off Twitter though. All you need do is look back on the success of the ‘we met on Twitter’ hashtag to fully grasp this.
