Summer just got a heck of a lot better before it really even started: 33 percent more people are looking for a one night stand in June compared to the other months in the year, according to new data from OkCupid.

The dating website tracked more than 18 million of their members’ responses to the question: “About how long do you want your next relationship to last?” from 2013 to 2016. The responses ranged from one night to forever.

On average, they found there was a 17 percent increase in people looking for one night stands in April, May, and June—so why might people stick to short-term rendezvous before the heat kicks in?

The weather might have something to do with it: “I would say that the increase [of interest in one night stands] in the summer (assuming in Northern Hemisphere) reflects the warmer weather and perhaps less inhibition as one is wearing fewer clothes,” Susan Krauss Whitbourne, Ph.D. a professor of psychological and brain sciences at the University of Massachusetts Amherst told OKCupid.

“People are more willing and able to get out of the house when they’re not dealing with snow, rain, and freezing temperatures. The ‘one night stand’ nature of this behavior may reflect, as well, fewer inhibitions with those warmer temperatures,” she adds.

So as your schedule gets more casual, so may your hookups. Just keep these rules in mind next time you find yourself in a no-strings situation.

And if you want to see her again? Here’s the best text to send after a one-night stand.
