Public Rec makes absurdly comfortable athleisure clothes you'll want to live in

Unsurprisingly, the editors of Men’s Health test out a wide range of athletic and athleisure apparel. It’s rare that we find brands that are universally beloved.

Public Rec is one of those unicorn companies that our staff adores. Public Rec makes technical leisure apparel for men, but really, they make high-quality, absurdly comfortable tailored outfits you’ll never want to remove.

Part of what makes Public Rec so incredibly awesome is the quality of the materials. The fabrics are a blend of nylon and spandex, which is supremely soft, stretchy and highly breathable. The elasticity ensures a comfortable fit whether you’re a standard size or if you’ve been hammering your arms in the gym lately and they’re blowing up. You’ll still look — and feel — stylish without worrying like your gains are going to rip your duds.

The cuts on any garment are perfectly tailored, and because of this (and a lack of overt branding), you can rock Public Rec to work or to the bar as easily as you can to the gym or just lounging around the house.

Take the All Day Every Day Pant. With an elastic waistband with a drawstring to snug them up just right, and two deep, front zipper pockets, they sound like your run of the mill jogger pants. But you can’t wear most of those into the boardroom. This stylish alternative to the normal sweatpant blows the most comfortable jeans out of the water, and sports tapered legs to help show off your sneakers. The best part? They come in specific measurements so you can order your ideal waist and inseam size. One (astute) purchaser left a glowing review that begins with “These are what humanity was supposed to have wrapped around our bottom half.” Amen. Public Rec just added three new colors to the All Day Every Day pant, navy, stone grey and heather burgundy, so snag ‘em while they’re in stock.

Pair those God-sent pants with the Crosstown Bomber. This jacket is sublime to wear to and from the gym since it’s made from the same soft, moisture-wicking fabric as the pants. Keep it on if you’re headed out for the night, too. (Be prepared to get a ton of compliments and ready to let everyone know where it came from.) The cut is fashioned after a traditional bomber jacket so it’s a little wider at the waist and a touch shorter in length. It fits a taller torso as perfectly as a wider one, though. A nice bonus is the chest zipper pocket having a little access port for your headphones. Once you experience the comfort of the Crosstown Bomber, this will undoubtedly become your go-to jacket for fall.
