Between the arm rest hoggers and the ones who move around restlessly in their chair, some airline passengers can try the patience of even the Biblical Job.

It's travel season people and no matter how much we try to avoid it (save you'll be flying business class), there'll always be that annoying airplane passenger you have to deal with.

So, what to do if you find yourself seated next to a mother with an unruly child for instance?

Here are 4 useful tips for dealing with an annoying airplane passenger

1. The sleeper: You know, the ones who conveniently turn their seat partner's shoulder to their pillows, quietly nudge them awake and possibly have them recline in their chair. There's no need to be hostile, however.

2. The unruly child: Whatever happens here, remember it is not in your place to discipline another person's child so no yelling, and absolutely no smacking for that matter. That said, you can opt to move to another seat if there's one available, entertain yourself with a movie/book/music or even try to sleep. Where all else fails including politely appealing to the mother, involve a flight attendant so they can maybe change your seat.

3. The seat kicker: If a child is consistently kicking on your seat, turn around and give them and their parent(s) a pointed glance, not glare. In the event that they don't stop, then politely request that they stop kicking your seat.

4. The surly flight attendant: Should you have the misfortune of encountering a rude flight attendant, to avoid complications (like getting thrown off a flight or being ignored all together), simply take note of the flight attendant's name and your flight number and email the airline when you arrive. Or better yet, you can always tweet at the airline, this usually gets maximum results.
