Charoensuttikul sought to create paintings which convey the idea that women should be prized for their individuality rather than adherence to some objective standard of beauty.

Through the years we've come to see Disney princess as beautiful, soft-spoken and a tad fragile.

But illustrator, Thunyamon Charoensuttikul is seeing things differently and recreating the iconic characters as Renaissance models.

To this end, she decided to re-imagine them as Renaissance-style models saying that the women who sat for paintings in that era were captured for their “uniqueness” rather than a template form of “beauty.”

Captured in the series were Disney favourites like Rapunzel, Pocahontas, Snow White from Snow White and the 7 dwarfs and more.
