How to post your holiday pictures for 'the gram' without causing 'beef'

It's that time of the year again when our social media feeds get flooded with various vacation pictures as folks happily share their holiday location with their followers.

We all have that one person on our social media feed who is constantly globe trotting and is not in the least bit shy about sharing this information with the world.

From meal times to lavish lodgings and shopping trips, we're offered a full itinerary of said person's holiday.

But when does sharing holiday pictures go from fun and colourful to outright bragging, thereby eliciting negative reactions from followers?

In the spirit of the holiday season, we share tips on how you can share your vacation photos without attracting any unwarranted 'beef'

1. Post one 'value' picture at a time: We really don't need to see 5 different shots of you in the same place, wearing several pouts, or for that matter a photo of your massive hotel room. As much as possible, let each photo tell a story - a newly discovered place, interesting food or for vanity sake, a really knockout outfit.

2. Your pictures should make people want to have a similar experience, not roll their eyes: Just like point 1 above, let your photos have value, rather than just show off. So unique sights, fun rides are all welcome.

3. Don't update every other hour: There's no need to post every single move you make, keep things interesting and far fetched - in a nutshell, people should look forward to your posts.

4. Post only nice pictures of food: If you have to post pictures of food, they have to be clear and enticing, you know have us salivating and leaping to the kitchen in an attempt to recreate it.

5. Share unique insights: So you've gone to Dubai, it doesn't have to be a photo of you in front of Burj Khalifa. Instead, show us a different side to the country, like the local cuisine, people or even police men (don't get arrested now).
