A man has created a floating living room, travelling through the canals in the Dutch city of Groningen.

A Dutchman has raised eyebrows in the town of Groningen due to his unusual means of transport.

He was journeying down one of the country's canals in a living room. The man is pictured reclining on his sofa as he passes through the city centre.

The mobile floating living room looks like it was built from a floating dock with a motor attached to it. There are several furniture items such as two-L-shaped sofas and a pouff added to the contraption.

The city of Groningen used to be the regional power of the northern Netherlands, but it is now predominantly a university town.
