Rele gallery showcases art in a modern way, so beautiful you can almost not get enough of it.
It's amazing how creativity and imagination transcend into reality, all in a piece of art (art of any kind) and of course, it's fascinating to having a viewing centre of all these beauties put together. Rele gallery, a contemporary art gallery, is one of such homes to ravish the beauty art has to present.
Located somewhere in Onikan Lagos, Rele is not just another gallery, but a modern home of art with so much warmth and beauty in it that catches your attention from the very minute you step into its comfort. Housed in a sparkling all white facility, from the ceiling to the wall and the floor, well-organised art pieces hanging from the ceiling, some hung on the wall and others neatly arranged on a table, the gallery is an embodiment of beauty.

The gallery is divided into 2 sections, the lower and the higher region. The lower part showcased an exhibition. Works of several talented artists ranging from paintings and prints to sculptures. Each artist's name, theme and exhibiting artwork was printed and pasted on the wall close to the exhibitions.
Somewhere by the side of this amazing big room was a smaller one, also filled with beautiful artworks. I was particularly captivated by a drawing on the wall, the black ship. Close to this amazing and bold black sheep painting was a screen and a projector, explaining the history of the black sheep for anyone who cared to know. I was all the more impressed to find a seat for interested persons who really wished to learn this history. How comfortable that is.
The visit, of course, is getting interesting. At the exit of this little room, I noticed a pretty artistic mirror lying just at the passage that connects this room to the bigger one. Just in case, you came into the gallery looking all messed up, you can be sure to return looking better. Isn't that fashionable? I just love the young vibes filled in this gallery.
Moving to the upper region of the room, I could not but notice the beautiful paintings which told stories of African, her culture and her people, that were well arranged on the walls, giving your eyes something to feed on, just so you don't get exhausted from your trip up the stairs. Paintings of an African woman wearing her natural braided hair, a contemporary dancer, women gisting in what seemed like a market square, a pretty lady fashionably dressed with her shoes to the ground and all other amazing paintings. At this point, I'm just in awe of the drowning beauty of this gallery.
Finally inside a well decorated, comfortable room with nice furniture, comfy chairs to rest your back, a water dispenser to suppress your thirst, and of course, get you relaxed enough to proceed in exploring yet another set of ravishing art beauty. This room narrates the story of African in different ways, from paintings of people to objects. What a place to explore art.
Rele is a home for artists who want to express themselves as well as a place for those who want to dive in the awe, beauty and aura of art. This gallery represents mixed media, visual and contemporary art.
