Performing Arts Farafina presents spoken word poetry, conversations

Leading publishers, Farafina, will hold conversations, question and answer session as well as spoken word poetry on July 31, 2016.

Farafina Books, one of the leading publishers of African Literature, in conjunction with Mainland Book Cafe is set to host a Spoken Word session with two Nigerian authors.

The session will feature Igoni Barrett, author of 'Black Ass' and winner of the 2005 BBC World Service short story competition.

Barrett was awarded a Chinua Achebe Centre Fellowship in 2010 and a Norman Mailer Centre Fellowship in 2011.

It will also feature Efe Paul Azino, one of the leading performance poets in Nigeria who has performed at many performance poetry events home and abroad.

Azino is the director of the Lagos International Poetry Festival and the producer of 'Finding Home', Nigeria's first spoken word poetry theatre production.
