With just few days to the annual gala and award night, the (LIMCAF) board of trustees has announced the members of the jury panel.
The board of trustees have announced UNILAG Associate Professor of art history, Dr. Peju Layiwola as head of the jury panel.
One of the spectacular things happening in this special edition is that the prize money for all LIMCAF category prizes are to be donated by one of the most famous artists and sculptors in Africa, Professor El Anatsui.
In the past years, LIMCAF has always selected a jury comprising of scholars and distinguished visual arts practitioners to deliberate on the entries sent in from aspiring Nigerian artists.
Layiwola, the head of this year's jury is not only an artist, she is also a well published art historian who has made a name for herself in the creative arts industry in Africa.
She bagged her B.A in Metal casting and Design from University of Benin in 1988, an M.A and PhD in (Visual Arts) from University of Ibadan between 1991 and 2004.
The other members of the jury include Professor Mu'azu Mohammed Sani and Ikechukwu Francis Okoronkwo.
The Art Director of Life in my city Art Festival, Ayo Adewunmi says that an international dimension to the panel will be in person of Aurelieu Sennacherib, Cultural Attaché at the French Embassy, Lagos Liaison Office.
The French Embassy has announced a new category for the festival's contestants and Mr. Sennacherib will choose an outstanding entry on behalf of the Embassy. The winner will then participate in exhibitions sponsored by the Embassy.
