A woman who gave birth on a Jetstar airplane enroute Myanmar from Singapore has named her baby boy after the airline.
Jetstar Asia took to it's Facebook account to make the announcement, saying the baby who weighed six pounds and seven ounces was safely delivered on the plane by a team of three doctors and crew after landing in Yangon.
The low-cost carrier further said it would donate SGD1,000 (around N150,000) worth of baby supplies to the family.
The mother is reported to have gone into unexpected labour during the 3-hour journey and plane passengers welcomed the baby's birth with a round of applause.
Both mother and son are reported to be in good health and have been discharged from the hospital.
Jetstar's policy requires a doctor's letter from pregnant passengers entering their third trimester, at 28 weeks or more, certifying they are in good health.
However, women up to 40 weeks pregnant are allowed to travel on flights less than four hours long.
