There are many hotels that attract the interest of tourists, some because of their unique facilities, and others because of the atmosphere surrounding them.
Here are five unique hotels from around the world:
1. Kakslauttanen, Saariselka, Finland:
The Kakslauttanen holiday resort is located in the home of Santa Claus, Lapland, Finland. Guests can stay in one of the 20 glass igloos in the resort.
The igloos have transparent ceilings through which guests can stare at the stars in the night sky right from their beds.
It doesn't matter if the weather is cold and freezing outside, the igloos are cozy and warm inside.
2. Mirrorcube Tree House Hotel, Harads, Sweden:
The mirror cubes of the hotel shows the reflection of the trees, glade, sky and every other thing that surrounds it.
The reflections blend into the surroundings such that an unobservant person would not easily notice it. The insides of the hotel are finished with birch-tree plywood.
This treehouse hotel has a huge bed, a bathroom, a parlor and a roof terrace.
3. Attrap Reves Hotel, Allauch, France:
Attrap Reves means 'the dreamcatcher’ in French. The hotel is made up of huge transparent bubbles located in the woods.
Guests at this hotel are provided with a telescope and a star map.
4. Ice Hotel, Jukkasjarvi, Sweden:
This half a century old architectural masterpiece is made of snow and ice. Supplies for the construction are taken from Torne River nearby.
Each spring however, the ice melts, so the rooms are different every year. The walls, furniture and decoration in any room is never the same the next year.
Guests are provided with thermal underwear, sleeping bags and hats. The hotel is designed such that inside is never cooler 19.4 degrees, no matter how cold it is outside.
5. Montana Magica Lodge, Neltume, Chile:
This fascinating conical structure blends so well with its surroundings that it could be easily mistaken for part of the forest but for the window panes.
This hotel has no regular entrance, rather, guests have to cross a hanging bridge to get to the hotel where bathtubs are made out of logs of wood.
