Colouring bus, live art studio and everything lit at art fair

Art X Lagos through its contribution to the increased visibility of African artists aims to reinforce the importance of visual arts.

The highly anticipated art fair did not fail at establishing West Africa as a significant player in the global art scene.

From a colouring bus to live art studio, below are amusing things the fair had to offer. Brooklyn-based, Nigerian artist Olalekan Jeyifous transformed the city’s most recognizable icon, a 'danfo', into a masterpiece by having members of the public join in the fun.

'The Colouring Bus' saw visitors participate in the art fair happily colouring away.Also, Nigerian artists Dipo Doherty, Queen Nwaneri, Sejiro Avoseh and Soji Adesina were seen creating artworks live at the fair.

Amusing the audience and sometimes giving fans a try with the brush.Art director and photographer Lubabetu “Lubee” Abubakar was busy focusing her lens on capturing ‘the faces of ART X Lagos’ through a series of portraits taken of guests across the three days.

Tunde Alara, an experimental and contemporary expressionist, displayed works from his project titled "Smile".

Alara's works combine art and fashion drawing the attention of cosmopolitan Lagos towards issues such as mental health, depression and drug abuse.
