The trade fair runs Wed. May 27 through Fri. May 29. For consumers, BookCon expands this year to a two-day weekend affair, Sat. and Sun. May 30 and 31.
Among the authors scheduled for BEA in literary fiction is Jonathan Franzen, whose new novel “Purity” (Farrar, Straus & Giroux) will be published in September. In popular fiction, Lee Child, creator of the wildly successful Jack Reacher series, will promote his latest, “Make Me,” (Delacorte) to be published Sept. 8. And the king of mega-best-sellers James Patterson will be on hand to talk about his children’s book “Treasure Hunters: Secret of the Forbidden City,” (Little Brown Books for Young Readers) also coming in September.
An important focus this year will be China's immense and growing book market.
