The Simpsons turn Black in satirical artwork by artist

Italian artist, Alexsandro Palombo, re-cast popular TV characters to raise awareness over shooting of black man Walter Scott by a white police officer in South Carolina.

AleXsandro Palombo is a contemporary artist and activist, known for his irreverent, colourful and satirical art.

Italian artist Alexsandro Palombo has released hard-hitting artworks featuring The Simpsons re-cast as black-Americans facing police brutality.

The satirical artist shared the artworks in response to the recent shooting of Walter Scott by a white police officer in South Carolina.

In one of the pictures, a black Bart is held at a gun point by series' police chief Clarence Wiggum, with a sign reading "I have a dream" crossed with red.

The sign signifies that Martin Luther's dream is yet to be fulfilled.

In another, Bart is lying face-down dead on the floor besides a gun in front of a billboard with the sign "Cops never sleep”.
