Synopsis
, a 20-year-old college undergraduate, is torn between her father's plans for her and her own plans for herself. As heiress of her father's billion-dollar corporation, everything in Lauren's life is designed to help her successfully take over from him but she her dream is to be a musician.
She leaves the house and embarks on her journey of self-discovery. In the process, she meets , the Nigerian-American bartender at her family's favourite bar. A mutual attraction ensues and a relationship begins, but they are two worlds apart. He's from the meagrely hoods of the Marcy Projects and she's from the wealthy Upper East side of New York. In the end, Lauren is forced to make a decision between her father's empire and the love of her life.
The main choreography for the project will be constructed by Broadway choreographer, Royce Zackary with support from Oladapo Adeniranye who will bring an afrocentric flavour to the production.
Javon Ford is currently putting the musical composition for the play together in the writing process.
Ogolo will be directing the musical, which is scheduled to hit the stage of the Olney Theatre in Maryland on August/September of 2016.
