Despite the many historic museums on the continent, Africa failed to make an appearance on the top 20 spot.

The 2015 museum ranking saw Paris' Louvre museum land on the number 1 spot for the 4th year running with 8.7 million visitors.
Meanwhile London had a total of 6 museums in the top 20 spot, which was higher than any other city on the list.
Washington DC was the next with 4 museums, and Beijing had 3 while New York and Paris tied with 2 museums each.
