Everyone who identifies themselves as stylish or a fashion enthusiast, should know certain key fashion terms to hold their own in any conversation. Here are four fashion terms to know.

Chelsea boots:

A short, fitted boot recognized by the elastic siding that covers the ankle. Initially designed as a riding boot (known as jodhpur or paddock boots), the frame was a hallmark of the 1960s mod and continues to have rock 'n' roll connotations today.

Chino (Cloth):

This is usually made of cotton or a cotton blend. Most especially used to make trousers, which are majorly known as 'chinos' also known as 'khakis'. Chinos became famous as a summer uniform for the armed forces and now is worn by civilians. The trousers have become a staple in men's wardrobes and is an essential part of a modern capsule wardrobe. They are available in a variety of neutral and bold colours, including statement prints and patterns.

Chukka Boot:

These are ankle boots with two or three high lacings to hold them in place. Ordinarily, they are made from suede or calfskin, the chukka boot has also been found in variations from dressier black leather to luxurious crocodile skin.

Collars:

Much unlike lapels, shirt collars are made from a different fabric. The spread of the collar is the distance between the two points of a shirt collar. The stand means the band, often on the widest part, that upholds the collar. Meanwhile, the corners of the collar are referred to as the points. This is where the most variation is used. Collar stiffeners, also known as bones, are rigid strips put into the underside of the collar to stop the points from curling up.
