If there is anything we know about Nigeria, it’s that we tend to be followers in terms of fashion and style, adopting western cuts and silhouettes even with our native fabrics. Thus, from the statistics of western men, we can conclude that the men’s fashion industry is thriving.
Men are paying attention to fashion just like women
Nigerian men are considering style more now. With the uprising of various menswear brands, it is absolutely obvious that men are paying as much attention to fashion as women are.

Men are getting more conscious about their style and are showing diversity and range through their choice of clothing. According to the statistics from Mr Porter, their mobile traffic is up from 12% a few years ago to 25% presently, which could mean that men are no longer just going on short focused shopping trips. They’re going online too.
Also, marketing agency Ogilvy stated that 94% of American men declare their personal style to be “defined”. That they think about their personal style is worthy of note. In addition, according to Euromonitor, 11% of men started using facial cleanser in the last three years and 6.1% of men said they now buy it a couple times a month.
This means that more brands are launching menswear collections, i.e Stella McCartney and more stores introducing fresh idea shops with cafes and bars located inside and a wider selection at the stores you already love. So, we can proudly say that men have a lot to look forward to and celebrate.
