Nigerian Celebrities came to play, Lines By Chaab wins Rising Icon, More

2014 Music Meets Runway was the perfect music meets fashion fusion that brought the year to a stylish close as designers and artistes from all over Africa made lasting impressions

The 2014 Music Meets Runway held last night; 23rd December 2014 at the revered Eko Hotel & Suites in Victoria Island and it easily heralded the stylish close to an eventful year.

The night kicked off with celebrities coming out in droves in their best styles, some of them choosing to go with this year's style theme of #BuyAfrican where celebrities like Seyi Shay turned stayed true to the dress code turning heads in a sequin number by Ejiro Amos Tafiri, Dakore Akande in Miliki Couture styled by Yolanda Okereke  with her husband; Olumide Akande in tow.

Toke Makinwa wore a red look featuring an exaggerated peplum and matching skirt with intricate beaded details by one of the designer's of the night; Neville Masondo complete with nude Louboutins, Bhaira Mcwisu was simple in a chic casual look, DJ Cuppy, Stephanie Coker, Eniola Badmus, DiJa, Liz Yemoja, Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi, Kunbi Oyelese, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Noble Igwe, Patoranking who came all out in African 'Batik' look complete with bandana and  more dazzled on the lush black carpet.

The event billed to start at 8pm finally kicked off around 11pm when celebrities filed in to take in the activities for the night and as usual the show didn't disappoint from performances to showcases from designers across Africa.

Akabogu Ogochukwu of Lines By Chaab finally emerged Music Meets Runway's  Rising Icon carting home the prize taking over from Kunbi Oyelese of April By Kunbi who won the 2013 edition.

Lines by Chaab beat other rising designers as Aamaa La Mode, Ms Ray, Sally Bawa, Ayo Van Elmar, Tehilah, Queen E Collection, Elis Major, Liz John Black, Abbyke Domina. Check out all the red carpet glam in the gallery above
