Mr Universe Nigeria 2015, Mueyiwa Omatsola, in an exclusive interview with Pulse TV, revealed his journey so far since winning the pageant, what got him into the pageant in the first place and what the future holds for him, using the Mr. Universe platform.
According to Omatsola, he got into the pageant because a friend had mentioned it in 2012 but he didn’t sign up. After getting on a strict diet and workout regimen, he felt ready and signed up this year.
He also mentioned that his family has been very supportive from the start and they well in full attendance at the competition.
Talking to Pulse, he claimed that since winning, his routine has changed and he has to be very detailed and careful in how he goes about his daily activities.
Aside from citing 50 cent as the person he looks up to because of his humble background, he hopes to take up runway modelling, acting and owning a gym in the future. He also thinks it is up to him to use the platform to make something of himself.
When asked about homosexuality in the industry, Omatsola mentioned that he hadn’t had to deal with it so far but that wasn’t speciifc to the entertainment industry but all other professional aspects in Nigeria.
Finally, he agreed that he had a pretty good chance at winning the international competition and advised the youth to focus on and perfect their craft.
