Seun Morafa, creative director and CEO of Nigeria based brand Morafa dished on breaking into the Nigerian fashion in a recent Pulse TV interview.
The emerging fashion brand who won UNILAG's finest designer awards and made a debut at the Africa Fashion Week Nigeria 2016 held months ago revealed he'd always known he'll end up as a fashion designer.
Starting off modelling, interning for fashion brands, releasing collection lookbooks and debuting on the runway amongst other editorial features, Morafa played back how he used "to make clothes for my sister's dolls, their teddy bears sewing with needle and thread on all their dolls" when he was still a kid till now when he's living that dream.
"I used my mum's fabric to make clothes for myself and my folks, I knew I wanted to do fashion" Morafa quipped in the interview.
On any formal training prior to launching his own brand Morafa offered that he had a 6-month internship with Kinabuti two years ago when he won UNILAG's finest designer award. He spoke about his raved '25 Collection' which he offered was created based on the youth age that is 25 and generally for the young at heart.
The brand prides itself with infusing Africa aesthetics in his approach to designs using Aso Oke, prints and more stating one of his most exciting collaborations till date is with (another Nigerian brand) Fruche using Aso-Oke as the designs stand out for him till date.
