Top Ghana brand Christie Brown releases unusually different collection featuring solid architectural designs, check on it.
The Ghanaian designer loved for her brilliant print creations dares to infuse architectural inspired structures into the new designs featured in this latest collection and it's interesting how she fuses her signature aesthetics into the new pieces (already flying off the racks, I hear).
The offerings in the new collection feature her ever present mix of solid print fabrics with more structured and daring lines stepping right out of the 'normal' Christie Brown cuts and designs, it's fascinating to see how she's taking on new mode of interpreting her designs.
Print pinafore cinched in the waist with a dramatic flared paired with tiered sleeve embroidered blouse, full print skirt with contrasting print band, fringe harness topping print dress, fringe belt adorning print and pleather skirt, tiered ball sleeved top were some of the pieces in the collection.
Other offerings include stripped high neck top with puff sleeves paired with laser cut fringe-y form fitting skirt with underlying print (my favourite look above), culottes lined with print paired with boxy print top. Cold shoulder and sheer lacy maxis, matching boxy flared dramatic set set in bold structured fit and more dramatic print dress filled the collection.
Some designs feel Rosie Assoulin-ish with just enough Gustavo Lins kind of 'relaxed structure' which is great as long as she consistently owns her designs.
Trendy bits employed in the collection were in form of fringe, tiered details, structured flares, cold shoulder, sheer laces. Is this different good or different bad, I honestly couldn't place my hands on it but she's got something interesting going on. (Yes to Assoulin inspired looks anytime)
