You may remember that Pulse broke the news that Superstar rapper, Kanye West’s collaboration sneakers with Adidas, the Yeezy Boost had been announced as the ‘Shoe of the Year’ by Footwear News.

Well, a couple of hours ago, the talented shoe designer took to the stage in New York City to accept his award for ‘Shoe of the Year’ at the footwear News Achievement Awards.

Seeing how popular the sneakers have been this year, with each new release from the 350s to the 750s in various colors selling out and crashing the internet, it only made sense that the designer won the award for his famed sneaker line.

The awards which serve as the highest honors within the footwear industry awarded the Adidas for the second time in a row, as the iconic Stan Smith won last year and the man himself stepped up to the stage to receive the award.

So many people seem to be happy with the win but some wonder if the rapper truly deserved the award, as they claim that it wasn’t super creative but merely popular. The rapper and his family made sure to promote the shoe.

Also, there were strategically timed releases for the 350 Boost in June, and subsequent “Black” and “Moonrock” colorways in August and November ensuring that the shoes never left the spotlight. The shoes also became a staple choice of footwear among the top tier of celebrities, fashionistas, sneakerheads, and even Barack Obama himself.

Let us know if you think the shoes deserved to win the award.
