Singer Davido graces the cover of US magazine, The Fader. In the 'Global' issue, he’s referred to as "Nigeria's fortunate son". He reveals how he started and what his journey’s been like.
For the rest of the spread, he is captured in a variety of settings, from being carried by his street fans, to a picture with his daughter and a few military inspired shots.
In the magazine, he recalls going to America for university; “That was the first time I had a phone in America. There was unlimited calling. I never saw nothing like that before,” he remembers. “In Nigeria, you gotta pay before you get what you want.”
The 'Dami Duro' singer also discussed dropping out of school, his crazy busy schedule, his relationship with Wizkid, his influential godfather and a possible collaboration with English actor, Idris Elba.
