Seaside’s achievements include producing a winner for the evaluation contest at the just concluded district conference.
The event started on a gratifying note as the immediate Past President of the club, Toastmaster Blessing Momah reeled out the achievements of Seaside Toastmasters, a relatively young club which has achieved great success in such a short time.
Seaside’s achievements include producing a winner for the evaluation contest at the just concluded district conference, producing a semi-finalist at the World Championship of Public Speaking, producing one of the six distinguished Toastmasters in Nigeria and recording an outstanding performance at the Toastmasters International assessment for clubs.
She concluded by asserting that ‘Seaside Toastmasters is indeed a championship club’ much to the delight and concurrence of the audience.
The incoming president, Toastmasters Linda Obidike, on behalf of the new executive team thanked everyone for the opportunity to serve in the 2016/2017 Toastmasters year and affirmed that with the baton of leadership passed to her and her team, their primary goal is to ensure that members achieve their goals for joining Toastmasters.
The event also witnessed an award giving ceremony to Toastmaster members who have contributed to the growth and success of the club. There were spectacular speeches from some members while some other members shared their Toastmasters experience. Noteworthy is the fact that many Toastmasters joined the club unable to face an audience but have over time overcome stage fright to become better orators and leaders simply by being members of the club.
Seaside Toastmasters is one of the 15,900 clubs in 142 countries that make up the global network of Toastmasters International, a non-profit educational organisation set up for the purpose of helping members improve their communication, public speaking, and leadership skills.
Members of the Seaside Toastmasters Club meet every first and second Saturday of the month at Eko Hotel and Suites.0
