Akwa Ibom's Utere Family Wins N10 Million Star Prize

Season 8 ended on a high note with the Akwa Ibom family emerging as winners.

The family of Mr. Isaac Utere has won the just concluded Maltina Dance All Season 8, automatically making them Nigeria's latest millioniares. The Family is said to have been unique and outstanding in all their dance steps and presentations, and they stood the test of time, beating three (3) other families to he throne in the grand finale.

To those who know Mr. Isaac (and the Media Works Family), its not much of a surprise, it is only an added feather in the cap, and a long awaited victory. The family is known to be made up of talents, it is from their stock that Leriq (Burna Boy's Producer) is made of, same with multi talented multi instrumentalists and cinematographer-Eddie Isaacs, and now, leading the family to victory is Rave & Ray- extraordinary dancers.

However, this reporter had met with Mr. Isaac sometime ago in Port Harcourt to ask him the motivation for his involvement in Nigeria's premiere family dance challenge and what he will do with the star prize money if his family wins.

Mr. Isaac's response was short, precise and concise, he quickly highlighted the challenges before him and promotion of talents in the region; he mentioned the acquisition of a world class mobile event stage, set & equipments, he promised to discover and promote more talents even those who are not his biological children, and he has assured his people back at Akwa Ibom state that they will see him more often, as he will bring all his experience, resources and talents to contribute to the development of the entertainment industry in the state, just as he has been doing in Port Harcourt over the years.

Mr. Isaac Utere is a father of many talents; he hails from Ikot Abasi in Akwa Ibom state, but resides in Port Harcourt where he and his family under the name Media Works have been doing exploits, affecting lives while earning several recognitions and awards. I came in contact with him in 2010, his personality shocked me, never have I seen a man from this part of the world who believes so much in talents and creativity, and ensures he helps his children (or any child that comes across him) to discover and nurture their talents to stardom.

The MDA, a consumer engagement platform is sponsored by Maltina, a premium non-alcoholic malt brand from the stable of Nigerian Breweries Plc. After a rigorous, intensive and COMPETITIVE process spanning more than two months, four families – the Utere, Unanka, Uzodinma and Odigie families – qualified for the grand finale which took place live at The Expo center, Eko HOTEL and Suites on Saturday 27th September 2014.

All hail the champions.
