The Creative Industries Award proudly supported by the British Council, rewards Initiative, Talent, Creativity and Entrepreneurship across the creative industries, recognizing the central role they play in the development of a competitive and sustainable creative economy.
How to apply: Write an essay not more than 500 words, about yourself or your nominee, noting the judging procedure and criteria below. Essay should underscore 3 major areas. Entrepreneurial Ability, Leadership, and Market knowledge. Send essay to info@creative-nigeria.org on or before the 8th of December 2014
The winners will be announced at the Creative Industry Awards Dinner on the 24th of January, 2015.
“This year we look forward to your nominations, hoping to discover those that have taken the creative bull by the horn and stamped their footprints on the sand of time” said Wale Ewedemi, the Director General of the Creative Entrepreneurs Association of Nigeria. He also said that The award brings out creative and cultural elements that don’t usually see the limelight while sensitizing the Nigerian creative sector to the opportunities that bound in Nigeria.
In 2014 Fim producer and Director, Kunle Afolayan was crowned the Creative Entrepreneur of the Year and YOUWIN was awarded for the highest contribution to the progress of the Nigerian Creative Industry. The Honourable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy was our Special Guest of Honour.
In 2013 Chris Obosi of Megalectrics, owners of The Beat FM, Classic FM, and Naija FM was crown Creative Entrepreneur of the Year, while Wale Adenuga of Wale Adenuga Productions and WAP TV was the Creative entrepreneur of the year in 2012.
