Sweden has an unofficial new term for female masturbation, it is "klittra."

"Klittra" is a combination of two words, "clitoris" (klitoris) and "glitter" (glittra.)
The coinage came as a solution to a problem that was brought forward in last year when a lady called Kristina Ljungros, the spokeswoman of the Swedish Association for Sexuality Education (RFSU), pointed out that there is no specific term for female masturbation.
"When it comes to masturbation, people mostly think about just men doing it and we don't think of it as common for women. If we don't have a word in the language, how can we even talk about it?"

As a proactive measure, they had women submit ideas for a new way to describe female pleasure/masturbation.
Out of over 1,200 responses, "klittra" was the winner, other names submitted included "pulla," "runka" and "selfa."
Concerning the new term which the RFSU is trying to get into Sweden's dictionary, Kristina says;
"We are trying to put sexuality on the agenda -- the positive aspects, we want to focus on the good parts, the lust."
Congrats to Sweden for finally putting female pleasure on the map.
