A super fun and relaxed way to cure cold and flu symptoms may just have been uncovered by Dr. William Schaffner, chair of preventive medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.
Whiskey may be good for cold and flu
In a report to ABC News, Schaffner who believes cold remedy whiskey cocktails, like the ‘hot toddy’ could relieve colds and flu, said "its effect on the body can possibly give you some modest symptom relief. The alcohol dilates blood vessels a little bit, and that makes it easier for your mucus membranes to deal with the infection."
Apparently, the moisture from any hot beverage can have equal effect, thus the reason why chicken soup is thought to work, according to the doctor. So, drink up but be responsible about it.
