The good part is that, unlike a white bikini that can be quite picky, white eyeliner is actually easy to wear.

Here's how to rock this new beauty trend in the best of ways, according to makeup artist, Robin Black.

Graphic cat eyes look cool in this unexpected shade. "It's a modern interpretation of white liner that's absolutely gorgeous on all skin tones," says Black.

Precision

The cat eye only works when it's crisp.

"Clean up the shape using a small pointed Japanese cotton swab," says Black. Run it along the edge of your cat eye while the liner is still wet to quickly lift away smudged and wiggly spots.

"Just don't dip it in makeup remover, since that could smear the liner," she says.

Pick a gel

"A pencil won't give you a sharp graphic wing, so it's exciting that a lot of companies make white gel liners now," says Black. Apply with a flat eyeliner brush that's easy to control.

Try liquid

Estée Lauder partnered with Courrèges, a French fashion house that's basically synonymous with the '60s, to create a summer makeup collection. So it's no wonder they came up with a mod liquid version called Courrèges Estée Lauder Ultra White EyeLiner.

Try to keep it modern

"White liner looks retro when you pair it with black mascara or black liquid liner," says Black.

Use brown mascara on the top lashes and brown waterproof liner on the upper inner rims.

"It's a lot easier to get white liner off your lashes than it is to get mascara smudges off white liner, so put your mascara on first," she says.
