Ex PDP chairman assassinated

Punch reports that he was killed in his Yenagoa home in the early hours of Wednesday, May 17.

It was gathered that Hobobo was stabbed to death by unknown assassins.

Hobobo's gate was forced open by the assailants before gaining access to his sitting room, where they allegedly stabbed him several times in the chest, the report said.

The killers were said to have refrained from using a gun to kill the politician to avoid attracting the neighbours' attention.

A team of policemen led by the Divisional Police Officer, Ekeki Division, reportedly removed Hobobo's corpse amidst tears from sympathisers.

The incident is coming a few weeks after a broadcast journalist, Mr. Famous Giobaro, was killed in the Bayelsa capital.
