Animal food may cause food poisoning, more in children

As farm animals fall sick, just like every other human organism, farmers administer antibiotics just as would be done in the case of humans.

According to new discoveries, Doctors now warn that animals can actually make children fall sick, and for the most unintentional reasons.

Sadly, these antibiotics ingested by the animals remain in their bodies, causing children to fall sick after consumption.

Due to population growth and increase in demand for food, these farmers take shortcuts to raise animals faster- because they can make more money selling more animals.

As logical as this seems, when these animals put people’s health in jeopardy, it should be illegal.

“Antibiotic resistance is becoming a bigger and bigger problem, both in kids and adults, so much so that some infections are becoming difficult, if not impossible to treat,”Dr. David Haslam.

Basically, kids who do not fall sick from this, and ingest enough of these antibiotics, becomes immune to other antibiotics, leading to stronger drugs, sicker kids and longer prescriptions.

Last month, California passed a law banning antibiotics in healthy animals’ feed with hopes that this will set a precedent for the rest of the country.

The FDA would have to pass a new regulation to ban these prescriptions, making these rules more effective.
