It was further reported that the association is determined to ground services in the nation’s health sector and this was made known in a recently issued communique.

According to a report by Vangaurd Newspaper, the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives, NANSM, alerted its members to await further directives as the association is set to embark on an industrial action if conditions were not met.
It was further reported that the association is determined to ground services in the nation’s health sector and this was made known in a communique issued at the end of the 30th Annual Scientific Conference that held in Jos.
In the communique, the association accused some Chief Medical Directors and Medical Directors, of deliberately refusing to pay uniform allowances to nurses and midwives as against the provision of the Civil Service Rule No. 130127.
The association's National Chairman, Nana Takai and National Secretary, Gambo Danfulani called on President Muhammadu Buhari to declare an emergency in the health sector, especially in areas of staffing, training, retraining and equipping health institutions with modern facilities.
