Journalists Against Polio (JAP) has urged traditional leaders and parents in Kaduna State to allow their children to be immunized against childhood killer diseases.

A statement signed by JAP State Coordinator, Lawal Dogara, said traditional rulers and religious leaders must ensure that parents released their children for immunization.

"We appeal to Traditional Rulers and Religious Leaders to ensure that parents, most especially in the rural areas, allow their children to be immunized because of its importance.

Traditional leaders in rural communities need to educate their followers within their communities on the importance of allowing their kids to be vaccinated against polio and other childhood killer diseases," he said.

JAP commended the World Health Organization, UNICEF, Kaduna State Government and other stakeholders for their efforts toward ending polio.

The journalists appealed to the ad-hoc staff engaged for the conduct of polio vaccination to be sincere in their activities with a view to making the exercise a huge success.
